It was a gorgeous day! When I say gorgeous, I mean the wedding was gorgeous. The day…I’m not gonna lie. It was HOT! None of that mattered though. This simple, intimate wedding went off without a hitch. Even the mini monsoon we were experiencing that week deciding to take a break for JP + Paula. These guys are amazing. They’ve been my neighbors for a long time and when they approached me about being their wedding photographer I could not have been more excited. I had the opportunity to finally meet Austin wedding coordinator, April, with Paisley Day. That woman can rock a wedding and she takes AMAZINGLY good care of her vendors. When she offered to bring me a bottle of water after the ceremony, I could have kissed her. It’s the little things, people. Take note.
JP + Paula chose their stylish and modern home as the wedding venue. The Paisley Day team did an amazing job making their backyard look like an upscale wedding venue. The flowers by Blossom were some of the most beautiful arrangements I’ve ever seen and I loved the individual cakes by local bakery, Sweetish Hill. Everything about this wedding was sweet, personal and just…them. The couple opted to see each other before the wedding and did a First Look and even walked each other down the aisle laughing in the face of tradition. Because really, who cares? Embrace the individuality of your wedding day! It’s yours to do so.

The Wedding Team:
Wedding Coordinator: April Orr, Paisley Day Events
Flowers: Blossom
Make Up: Chrissy Edwards
Cakes: Sweetish Hill Bakery

Love backyard weddings and love these photos. Kristi, you have done it again – told a beautiful and real story of this couple’s special day. If you ask me, it’s better than video at capturing the moments and narrative of the day.

What a fabulous afternoon – a glowing bride, a loving groom, and the hearts of all who love you entwined in the sunlight and sparklers. Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your life history!

Came back to see them a year later (well, it was a year ago Sunday), and I’m still just as happy. It was the perfect day for this bride, and looking at these photos, I remember why. Thank you, Kristi. I know we weren’t the easiest, most photogenic subjects–and we didn’t give you a lot of traditional moments to work with! But you captured all the things that were important to me.
Also, love the new blog and site. Wonderful.
