Austin Engagement Photographer – Kelsey and Bryce’s East Austin engagement session

Photographing couples in their homes is probably my favorite place to do an engagement session. When Kelsey suggested the east side as the location, I immediately said let’s start at your place. The small home on the east side is their first together which makes it all the more meaningful. From there we wandered their neighborhood, exploring hidden alleyways. We had no real agenda. We laughed. We talked. We chased the light. It was awesome. We even found some pinatas! It was perfect considering Halloween was just around the corner.

Kelsey and Bryce are such a stylish couple. Her dress is from Anthropologie in case you are wondering. I’m so excited to photograph these guys! Their Spring wedding will be at Hummingbird House!

Montrose Neighborhood Wedding Photography – engagement session with Yuri + Jillian

Yuri + Jillian are getting married in Bandera / Camp Verde, Texas next year. This Houston couple wanted their engagement photos taken in the Montrose neighborhood where they live. We started the session at their historic apartment, a former orphanage, in downtown Houston. Their loft like apartment was a great place to start. We even got a few photos with their little dog. From there we wandered the neighborhood streets in search of interesting light. Not having a set agenda was so freeing + fun. I love the little pockets of light we found in this urban environment. Montrose reminds me of the French Quarter and the Bywater in New Orleans with its tightly packed homes + wandering vines. Love this funky little spot.

Being able to photograph in new places is so inspiring. This is definitely one of my favorite sessions I have photographed!
