Looking back over Jenny + Brett’s wedding photos makes me so thankful that I have a job that I love + clients I love even more! Brett + Jenny live in Corpus Christi, where Brett is a pilot, had their wedding at The Wild Onion Ranch, a truly stunning wedding venue just outside of Austin. Everything was so elegant! I loved Jenny’s Claire Pettibone dress! Jenny + Brett decided to do a ‘first look’ before their ceremony -so many sweet moments! And boy do these guys really know how to throw a party!! They surprised everyone (including me) by showing off some serious dance moves. What started out looking like two kids at a jr high prom dancing to the Titanic theme song quickly knocked everyones socks off with an abrupt stop to the music + going into a little swing dance number. They secretly took dance lessons before the wedding to surprise their friends + family. It was amazing!!! The night ended with a New Orleans ’second line’ style exit lead by the Matchmaker band (you should book them for your wedding – the are all sorts of awesome)!!

After spending the day in Houston with Fer, an amazing wedding photographer based in Mexico, for his workshop, I feel energized and inspired! It’s always interesting to see how other photographers work. I loved being able to play with new ways to see light and create a more dramatic image. We don’t always have time to get images like this on the day of the wedding, so I’m hoping to encourage clients to consider adding a day-after session to their wedding collections. Here are a few of my favorite engagement and wedding session images from the day. I admit, there are a few that make me so, so happy…in a “OMG, I freaking shot that!!” kind of way! I have to give a special nod to the In-Tandems, an amazing photography duo, who were our models for the day. They are the sweetest people and really rocked it in front of the camera.

Shannon + Wes were married in a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at The Vista on Seward Hill. La Fleur Vintage provided some of the most beautiful wedding flowers I’ve ever seen and Elizabeth is just the nicest lady. I love how all Shannon’s bridesmaids wore different dresses. Can you tell I was a little obsessed with the flower girl? How cute is she? She definitely gets the award for cutest wedding toast of the year! Speaking of…I can’t believe this is one of my last weddings of 2011! Time has flown this year!
