Austin Photographer | Hook ‘em! And pass the Swine flu.

September 7, 2009

Texas Longhorns tailgate by Austin wedding photographer Kristi Wright

In case you don’t know, I happen to be a huge Longhorn fan. My husband and I have season tickets and we were so excited to go the first home game this weekend. We bleed burnt orange don’t you know? Ha. We started tailgating with some friends a couple of years ago and it continues to grow. We get there early, cook a bunch of food and talk a lot of shit until game time. Our spot is located on San Jacinto and 26th St. (otherwise known as Dean Keaton but I refuse to call it that…always will be 26th to me) Why does Austin have to change the name of everything? Lady Bird Lake? Noooo, it’s Town Lake. Anyway :) We are so ready to win the National Championship again. It’s time.

So get your Horns up and feel free to stop by before the next game!

I decided to take a few photos before and during the game. Click to view the slideshow. Just fyi, the group playing pass the swine flu is not us but the yahoos who snaked our spot. It’s ok though. They were pretty cool even though they took the spot we’ve held for the past three years. But who’s counting?

ps. OU still sucks!

great pics! I might just have to stop by sometime time =) And the picture with the girl.. with the American manicured fingernails, with the peace sign bracelets, throwing up the Longhorn sign….. just describes Austin perfectly.. don’t ya think =)

I thought the same thing, Andrea. Just about as “Austin” as you can get. You should definitely come by.

Ahh I feel so bad about not stopping by. We are in the exact same area. I read this post and got a kick out of the last line. Your wish has come true! Are you all goingtp Pasadena? We are plannig to but still looking for 2 tickets. We have 4 for 6 people! If not we will party while we are there!

We are not going to Pasadena as much as we’d like to. Just can’t afford the ticket prices. We’ll be watching it at home. Take lots of photos if you go. I actually know somebody who has 4 tickets but they are selling for $500/each. If you are interested, I can try to contact the person for you. Next season come by the tg for sure!
