Austin Wedding Photographer | Engagement Session at Home | Jon + Linny

Linny + Jon just returned from their destination wedding in Jamaica! They had thought about having their wedding at their home where their engagement session took place but sometimes it’s best to get away and have a wedding just for yourselves. I’m so glad they followed their hearts. It’s easy to get lost in all the wedding hoopla so when I got the word that they had decided to elope in Jamaica, I was so excited for them. I hope you enjoy this intimate peek into their lives. I love shooting engagement sessions at a couples’ home. They are always unique and the couple seem instantly comfortable in their own space. You can definitely feel the heat between these guys!! Here are some of my favorites from their session (not to mention some of my favorite photos ever)!!

Austin Wedding Photographer | Newly Wed | Taylor +Victoria

Here is a look at real honest to goodness love. Meet newlyweds, Victoria + Taylor. Their story is a sweet one. We spent the morning and afternoon together to get these frames. I approached this session a little differently than most. I really wanted to explore something new – the intimacy of relationship. My goal was to get the couple to a real place of comfort and really get them to open up to one another in my presence. I can make any two people look happy together. We all have our tricks and ways of putting people at ease but I wanted this to be real. No staging on my part. Being vulnerable is a difficult thing to do. Most people…ok everyone…feels nervous once the camera shows up. It takes a real commitment to get to this place. Every part of this session had meaning. We spent time just hanging out in their most private space, their home, forgoing typical locations which had little to no meaning to them. We explored their neighorhood with their awesome yellow tandem bike which was a gift from the person who married them. They talked about the significance of the bike. During their pre-marriage counseling sessions their pastor asked them to best describe their relationship. They said they were always together. Never apart. So on their wedding day, their pastor presented them with a personal gift, a tandem bicycle. It had belonged to him and his own wife for nearly 20+ years. He wanted it to be a reminder to them of when their love was young and new. A reminder of how they needed to stick together for marriage is a long journey.

Lastly, they had a small request to recreate a photo of Victoria’s grandparents. How could I say no to such an awesome idea? We went to the tennis courts and I posed them just like in the photo I had seen so lovingly displayed in their bedroom. If you know me, I have a soft spot for the grandparents. I think it turned out great!

This kind of session takes a great deal of trust and patience. I hope they enjoyed being part of this as much as I loved photographing them.austin wedding photographeraustin wedding photographyaustin wedding photographeraustin wedding photographylifestyle photographyaustin dallas houston san antonio wedding photographeraustin modern wedding photographyaustin photographylifestyle and editorial photographersaustin wedding photographermodern lifestyle and wedding photographywedding photographerswedding photojournalistphotographers austinaustin wedding photographeraustin tx photographersmodern wedding photographywedding photography austin txwedding photographers in Austinaustin wedding photographersaustin lifestyle photographeraustin wedding photographeraustin wedding photographersaustin wedding photographerlifestyle and wedding photographerslifestyle photographerswedding photojournalistship wedding photographyoffbeat wedding photographyaustin wedding photographeraustin wedding photographersaustin wedding photographydestination wedding photographerslifestyle fashion wedding photography

Austin Wedding Photographer | Sydney + Craig

I love a couple who puts the wedding photography first! Dream clients!! This perfectly describes Craig + Sydney.
I had such an amazing day hanging out with Sydney and her sister, Hayley, at the Driskill. They really made me feel like family. We spent the afternoon at the hotel as the girls prepped for the big day. Erica Gray did a fabulous job on the bride’s hair and make up. Once Sydney was ready we headed out to the beautiful Austin Hill Country for the wedding. Sydney + Craig were married in a very intimate ceremony at Chapel Dulcinea. The reception followed at Sullivan’s Steakhouse where I had the best vendor meal of my life. Hello, steak!
What can I say about this couple? They were so laid back and allowed loads of time for portraits. I honestly could have posted twenty more photos! I’m so happy they chose me as their wedding photographer. Thank you, guys, for being the sweetest couple. I can’t wait to use my spa gift card!!austin weddingsaustin wedding photographersphotographers in austinwedding photojournalismphotographers in austinaustin photographersphotojournalist wedding photographerdocumentary wedding photographysydney davis weddinggorgeous wedding flowerstexas destination wedding photographersaustin photographersbest austin wedding photographersbeautiful wedding photographyaustin texas photographersaustin photographers and lifestyle photographyaustin texas weddingswedding photographersmodern wedding photographysouth austin weddingaustin photographersaustin wedding photographylifestyle and wedding photographertexas hill country weddinghill country wedding venuessydney and craig davis weddingtexas hill country austin photographerssydney and craig wedding at chapel dulcineaaustin wedding photographerswedding photos in austinpretty wedding photographychapel dulcinea weddingsfirst look photosstylish and modern weddingsaustin wedding photographertexas hill country wedding venuestx wedding photographers austin areaoutdoor wedding chapel in texasoutdoor weddings in austin austin photographerslifestyle and wedding photographyfun wedding photographyaustin wedding photographeraustin photographeraustin san antonio dallas houston fredericksburg wedding photographervintage style weddingsphotographers in austintexas photographer willing to traveldestination wedding photographyA special thank you to my assistant, Sam, for helping me out.
