Getting married? There are so many things to consider when planning a wedding that I thought I would share some helpful tips when it comes to the photography side of things. I’m pretty much a planner by nature so if you have any questions that fall outside the photo category, please send me a quick email or call 512-413-4461 and I’ll try to help you any way that I can.
The First Look: On the day of your wedding, we can schedule time (min. 30 minutes recommended) to do a first look. This is an intimate moment just between the bride and groom when you see each other for the first time. Why do it before the ceremony? Not only is this time often less stressful as all the guests have yet to arrive and nobody is pulling you in a million different directions, you get more than just a few minutes to take it all in…together. You’ll still have that moment when you walk down the isle. I promise.
Engagement sessions: Sometimes people ask “What’s the point?” when it comes to the e-sesh. Well, for one we have a chance to get to know each other a little better before your wedding day. The wedding day can be a chaotic event and when we are familiar with each other you are more relaxed and your photos will turn out better. Besides, it’s a fun and relaxed session that shows off your love and personality. Once you see how awesome your e-sesh pics turn out, you might consider ordering a guest book. I can design a modern guest book filled with photos from your session that your wedding guests can sign sweet messages of encouragement. Doesn’t that sound better than the one you can get from Things Remembered at the mall? What else can you do with your e-sesh pictures? How about save the date cards? If the session is scheduled far enough in advance, these can make great cards to send to those out of town guests. Let me design something unique and personal just for you!
Bridal sessions: Bridal sessions are a bit of a Southern tradition and a wonderful way to capture your beauty during one the most important times in your life. This is also a great way to test out your hair and make up before the wedding day plus, it gives you another excuse to put on that dress you spent a gazillion dollars for
! You may think the photo you tore out of Brides is the look for you but wouldn’t you feel better knowing that that lipstick was the not the right choice for you before the big day? At the very least, do a trial run on your own and have someone snap a photo of you so you can see for yourself. Trust me on this one.
Trash the dress sessions: Need one more reason to put that beautiful gown on one more time? Here it is. We’ll do an editorial inspired session after the wedding. We won’t do anything to ruin your dress or my gear but we don’t have to be as concerned about it either. It’s just too much fun.
Day After session: This is a session with both the bride and groom decked out in all their wedding day glory…only it happens after the wedding.
Edit Process: Each photo receives a basic edit (color/exposure) while prints and album selections receive extra love. Extra love means anything from cleaning up skin imperfections to special color and black and white processing.
